There is / There are

Bir şeyin var olduğunu söylemek için ya da tekil veya sayılamayan isimleri tanımlamak için "there is" kullanın. Çoğul isimler için "there are" kullanın. Sorularda özne ve fiili yer değiştirin: "Is there...?"

NE ZAMAN KULLANILIR

Bir şeyin varlığını sunmak veya duyurmak için "there is/are" kullanın. Bir yerde neyin olduğunu anlatmak ya da bir şeyin var olduğunu (ya da olmadığını) belirtmek için çok yaygındır.

Çoğul isimlerle "there are" kullanın

İpucu

"is" ya da "are" fiili "there" ile değil, sonrasında gelen isimle uyum sağlar. O yüzden sonrasında ne geldiğine dikkat edin: "There IS a dog" (tekil) vs "There ARE dogs" (çoğul).
